Live8

I suppose it is remiss of me not to have mentioned Live8, but to be honest with England playing Australia at Lords on Saturday I really didn't see much of it. Once the cricket was over all I did was flick channels fairly often so that I wouldn't miss Pink Floyd. And weren't they superb! Great to see the famous line up back together. They rocked and indeed they rolled even if Dave Gilmour looked like a retired chief constable.

In the interests of balance, as it was I who moaned about the inevitable commercial boost the event will give many bands, it would appear that Pink Floyd have done the best with sales of their greatest hits album Echoes up up by 1343% in the days following their performance, and The Who's Then and Now up by 863%. Is there any deep conclusion to be drawn from the fact that 2 bands formed 40 odd years ago were the best received? I think so; especially as The Libertines sales have dropped by 34%.

My final comment is thus. Is Joss Stone the stupidest woman on earth?
